Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government – Industrial Mechanic – starting salary $22.65 per hour

Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and services all machines, systems and components found in wastewater conveyance and
treatment
• Performs minor electrical work that does not require a license (e.g. disconnects, switch replacement, etc.)
• Maintains accurate records of inspections and work performed
• Operates equipment such as forklifts, dump trucks, backhoes and mowers
• Monitors or inspects the work of third-party contractors
• Studies blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals to determine or verify correct installation or operation of machinery
• Performs related work as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• One (1) year of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field
• Years of related, post-high school education may substitute for years of related experience
