City of Franklin, KY – Water Treatment Plant Operator

Description:

Responsibilities include testing, monitoring, and adjusting chemical feed rates, preparing and maintaining daily logs, inspecting and monitoring all aspects of the treatment process, keeping the facility in compliance with state and federal regulations at all times. As well as assisting with reports and any other duties assigned, collecting necessary samples inside the plant and in the distribution system, observing chemical deliveries, providing good public relations, and assisting in maintenance malfunctions and routine maintenance as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a two (2) year technical school or bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or related field is preferred. Licensed operators are encouraged to apply. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Must be able to obtain a Kentucky Class IV Water Treatment Operator’s license upon becoming eligible.

Reports To:
Water Treatment Plant Operators report directly to the Water Treatment Plant Superintendent.

Pay:
$ 18 to $ 22 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Work Hours:
Must be willing and able to work scheduled overtime as well as non-traditional schedules including nights, weekends and holidays as may be required.
