Under the direction of a Professional Engineer, provides technical support in the field of civil/environmental engineering to ensure that regulatory and community service-level obligations are met. Responsible for independent management of engineering related tasks as assigned by supervisor, including data collection, analysis and formulation of recommendations.

Engineering Co-Op (Electrical)

Under the direction of the Sr. Electrical Engineer, responsible for developing an archive of configuration files for MSD’s power monitoring and power protection devices, building a library of software applicable to those devices, development of an archiving system for arc-flash study files for all MSD facilities, investigating construction-related issues or disputes, gathering field data, and researching National Electric Code requirements.

FIND Outdoors – Class 1-AD Drinking Water Treatment System Operator and Class 1-D Water Distribution System Operator in Charge for the Gladie Visitor Center, Stanton, Kentucky

Description:

FIND is seeking a firm or an individual (Firm) to act as Operator in Charge and be responsible for operation and reporting of the drinking water treatment system at the Gladie Visitor Center in the Red River Gorge of the Daniel Boone National Forest. The selected firm must hold certifications from the Kentucky Division of Water for Class 1-AD Drinking Water Treatment System Operator and Class 1-D Water Distribution System Operator.
The selected firm will:
Perform work in treatment of raw water using filtration and sodium hypo-chlorite feed system that changes the taste, odor, or chemical content of the water through accomplishment of the following assignments:
Monitors gauges, meters, pumps, filters, chemical feeders, and recording and controlling devices according to a prescribed schedule and performs routine operator maintenance. Adjusts valves and pumps to control and aerate water flow. Performs minor preventative maintenance on chemical feeders, pumping stations, and other equipment.
Performs water treatment tests to check pH level, turbidity, and chloride content. Adds chemical agents to chlorinate water as needed. Makes all adjustment in chemical feed, pump rates, and reservoir elevations based on test results, chemical concentrations, chemical test results, and elevation levels. Will be occasionally required to enter data into a computer database.
Responsible for conducting tests and measurements within prescribed State and Federal standards. Submits Monthly Operator Reports to the Kentucky Division of Water. Receives, checks, records and
unloads water treatment chemicals and obtains samples for testing to determine the quality of chemicals. See attached document, Operation of Federally Owned Drinking Water System.
Oversees the construction, maintenance and cleanliness of the water distribution system. Lays lines, maps lines, sanitizes/hyper-chlorinates lines, repairs minor leaks, etc.
Trains up to four (4) Forest Service Operators in Training in drinking water treatment and distribution to attain experience required for certification.

Manages the planning and design approval of sanitary, stormwater and green infrastructure systems of all privately funded development in MSD’s service area. DEPARTMENT: Muldraugh Water Treatment Plant

BASIC POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Operate a Class IV-A Public Water Treatment Plant. Assist Distribution Department, Water
Quality/Measurement Specialist and Maintenance Specialist as needed.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Light equipment maintenance and cleaning as well as general facility housekeeping, including
maintenance of plant grounds and mowing Performs all required duties in the daily operations of a Class
IV-A Public Water Treatment Plant under limited supervision. Performs all phases of the water treatment
process, equipment maintenance and cleaning, computer based records management, and water quality
testing. Operate, monitor, and calibrate water quality instrumentation. Receive and answer customer
phone calls. Carry out research and pilot studies as needed to optimize and improve plant operations.
Provide daily reports and updates to other operators and plant supervisor. Monitor chemical levels and
dosage rates. Perform jar tests and other indicators of water quality within plant. Understand and follow
the regulations enforced by the Kentucky Division of Water. Comply with and follow District and industry
safety standards. Acquire bacteriological laboratory analyst certification within a reasonable time. This
position requires access to Fort Knox Army Post. Incumbent must be able to pass security background
check as required by Fort Knox. If approval to access Fort Knox cannot be obtained for any reason,
employment may be terminated. Any and all other job duties as may be assigned. Regular and
predictable attendance and punctuality is required.

The Central City Municipal Water Treatment Plant is currently hiring for the position of “Operator.”

Responsibilities: Quality control testing, sample collection, SCADA monitoring & general plant
operations.

Qualifications: Applicant must have a GED or equivalent; Bachelor of Science degree preferred
but not required. Applicants MUST currently hold a KY Class III or Class IV surface water treatment
license. This is NOT a trainee position. Applicants must possess a valid Kentucky drivers license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
