Paducah Water – Water Treatment Plant Operator
Description:
Paducah Water operates a Class IVA municipal water treatment plant located in Paducah, Kentucky, and is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Water Treatment Plant Operator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include testing, monitoring, and adjusting chemical feed rates; preparing and maintaining daily logs; inspecting and monitoring all aspects of the treatment process; and assisting in light maintenance as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license
High school diploma or equivalent
Kentucky Class III or higher Water Treatment Operator License; or a baccalaureate degree in engineering, biological, environmental, physical, or chemical science, or equivalent, from a regionally accredited college or university.
Must be able to obtain a Kentucky Class IVA Water Treatment Operator’s License upon becoming eligible.

Pay:
Entry-Level Trainee (without license): $27.99/hour (90% of full rate)
Shift Operator (with license): $31.10/hour (100% of full rate)
Night Shift Premium: Additional 10% pay differential
Annual Wage Increases: Effective January 1
Work Hours:
Once a Class IVA license has been obtained (estimated within 15 months), this is a scheduled night shiftposition from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Thursday – Saturday, and alternating Sundays. Work on all
scheduled holidays is required.
Physical and Work Requirements:
Participation in the random drug testing program is required.
Must be able to climb, bend, lift, and carry up to 60 lbs, and work in both hot and cold weather conditions.
Must be able to work safely in environments where chemical and mechanical hazards may exist.
